Many people use hair products every day for damaged hair treatment and those products contain chemicals, another reason for split ends. Nowadays, for this reason, it is very common to deal with split ends.

We are all aware of hair masks, usually, experts use them for deep conditioning treatments to restore moisture to the hair and strengthen the hair shaft. It is considered a great hair treatment for dry hair and to hide split ends. Also, some leave-in conditioners are rewarding as a split-end treatment if you apply them correctly from roots to tips. In most cases, these hair masks and leave-in conditioners are available at drugstores and beauty supply stores, or you can make your own to treat your damaged hair. To prepare the conditioner, use the following ingredients

Sweet almond oil

It is considered a hydrating oil and using it will not weigh down your hair. As a neat leave-in conditioner, it can be used on damp hair because of its terrific smell.

Panthenol

Panthenol is a branch product of pantothenic acid (vitamin B-5). Many manufacturers use it as a key ingredient in many hair masks and conditioners to treat damaged hair. It has the ability to strengthen the hair, retain moisture, and improve the texture of damaged hair

Argan Oil 

In Morocco, the production of argan oil comes from the kernel of the argan tree. Apply a few drops of argan oil to damp or dry hair and gently comb through to hide split ends. It has the natural ability to moisturize the hair and adds extra shine to the hair.

How to prevent split ends

Preventing split ends isn’t impossible, but it’s not an easy task either. Nevertheless, many experts have suggested some tips and tricks to reduce the frequency and severity of split ends.  

  • Regular haircuts and trims can reduce the frequency of split ends, at least once every 6 weeks.
  • No need to wash your hair every day. However, use conditioner every time you wash and try to skip shampoo.
  • Do not use shampoos that contain harsh ingredients, always use natural shampoos.
  • Use conditioner or leave-in conditioner after shampooing.
  • Always choose a wide tooth comb to detangle wet hair.
  • Avoid coloring and chemical straightening, always go natural.
  • Use a heat-protecting spray and use heat accordingly.
  • To strengthen hair, use supplements like biotin and folic acid.

Certain hairstyles can also cause split ends such as ponytails and hair twists. Try to avoid wearing these hairstyles and using soft hair ties can prevent damage.
